Completing riveting on the
leading edge and heat unit for pitot
My Son
gave me a hand for a few hours and a little help from Bernard
meant that I could get the rivets done holding the leading edge
ribs to the spar. They are a pain !! but they are doable
with some perseverance and a few marks on the arms !!
Once
that was done I could squeeze all the rivets to hold the edge of
the skink to the spar. It was a joy to be back on something
easier and more repetitive.

Before finishing for the day I though I would fix
the pitot heat unit onto the rib. I have put it on the
outboard most rib of the same bay as that which is holding the
pitot tube. I should be able to put my hand through the
inspection hatch, through the next rib into that bay to be able to
change it if necessary. Lock nuts mean that I have not got
to fiddle and lose nuts when maintaining it.
